Andrea Iannone, MotoGP rider, was suspended 18 months for doping.

The Italian motorcyclist Andrea Iannone was suspended for eighteen months for doping in the sporting process due to the positivity to drostanolone found in the Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix last November. The Aprilia Racing Team Gresini driver was temporarily suspended in December awaiting trial. The prosecution supported the voluntary nature of the hiring and asked for four years of suspension, but the International Motorcycling Federation recognized him for taking drostanolone for food contamination. Given the three months of temporary suspension already discounted, Iannone will be able to return to race in June 2021. The pilot will appeal against the sentence to the Arbitral Tribunal of Sport in Lausanne.
