Match Schedule:
Juventus vs. Tottenham
Champions League 2018
Date: 13 February 2018;
Time: 8.45 PM
Venue: Allianz Stadium
(Torino)
There are no precedents in official matches between Juventus
and Tottenham, who had already
played a friendly match in the summer of 2017, in Wembley, won by Tottenham for
2 to 0. The return will be played on Wednesday, March 7, in London.
Juventus arrived at the game tonight in a
good moment: in the last match of Serie
A, they beat Fiorentina 2 to 0 away, even after a not brilliant match and
in the previous one they had beaten Sassuolo 7-0 at home. Juventus, however,
has a big problem with injuries. This will force the coach Massimiliano Allegri
to deploy some reserves and to change the form, going from the traditional
4-2-1-3 to 4-3-3.
In the last Premier
League game Tottenham beat
Arsenal for 1 to 0. He is fifth in the standings with 52 points, 20 less than
the Manchester City leaders. Coach Mauricio Pochettino has no significant
injuries and will be able to line up the starting lineup, including striker
Harry Kane, who is scoring with an impressive pace and is currently probably
the best European striker.
Juventus is still favored for the passage of
the round because it is on paper a more solid and organized team with much more
experience in Europe. But it will be important to win tonight, possibly without
conceding a goal: not an impossible thing, given that in the last 16 games only
one goal has been scored. Another encouraging statistic for Juventus: has never
lost in Europe in the last 26 games played at home, while Tottenham has won
only once in the past fourteen games played away.
