Leicester City striker Islam Slimani said he was surprised by
his exclusion from the Algerian
national team, which is preparing to meet Cameroon
on Saturday in the African qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Sulaimani is fourth on Algeria's top scorer, scoring 25
goals, three ahead of Arab striker Hilal Sudani of Croatia's Dynamo Zagreb. It
was Zatzi who initiated the announcement of the temporary exclusion of Slimani
and his colleague in Leicester City, Riad Mehrez, as well as Nabil Ben Taleb of
Schalke, before the Spanish coach Lucas Karaz announced that he was the
decision maker for technical reasons.
Algeria went out of the qualifying round for
the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia, with Group B finishing second with one point.
A match without a stake but decisive for the future, Cameroon-Algeria this
Saturday 7 October will be an opportunity for many Algerian players with a
