The national team of Algeria will face in this Saturday, in a match counting for the second day of group D qualifying for the African Cup of Nations CAN-2019 with Gambia. In view of this first official outing of the national team in 2018, Belmadi has called 25 players.

Match Schedule:
Algeria vs. Gambia
African Cup of Nations Qualification
Date: 08 September 2018; Time: 16:30
Venue: Independence Stadium (Bakau)

The two new players from FC Metz, midfielder Farid Boulaya and goaltender Alexandre Oukidja will also honor their first selection with Algeria. On the second day of the CAN 2019 qualifiers, the fennecs at the top of their group will fly to Banjul on September 6th on a special flight. The kickoff of this match will be given from the stage of independence of Banjul, Saturday, September 8, at 16:30 local.

Algeria travels to the Gambia for the second day of the CAN 2019 qualifiers. This is a new era that begins for the Algerian selection. After watching the World Cup at home, the Fennecs changed coach. Djamel Belmadi, the former OM player in particular, took the reins of the team instead of Rabah Madjer.

For his first outing, Belmadi will have to negotiate a trip to The Gambia. A priori, this should not cause any concern especially since the Gambian selection has not won a match since September 2013. Winner of their first match against Togo (1-0), in June 2017, the Algerians are currently first in group D. Only the first place offers a qualification for the African Cup of Nations 2019.
